Troops Banned From Public School
Did you ever imagine a day when American military veterans would be banned from a public school?
Welcome to the new century, folks.
The principal at Forest Lake High School in Minnesota has cancelled a national tour of decorated war heroes from Iraq and Afghanistan. Steve Massey pulled the plug at the very last minute — forcing the veterans to relocate their event to a local American Legion Hall.
Apparently, the principal said they received angry telephone calls from some parents who vowed to stage a protest if the war heroes stepped foot on the school campus.
Mr. Massey determined that the event was political — rather than educational — and he deemed the appearance of American fighting men and women at Forest Lake Area High School unsuitable.
Unsuitable.
The national tour is sponsored by Vets for Freedom. These Great Americans have no political agenda, nor have they endorsed a presidential candidate.
Pete Hegseth graduated from Forest Lake and he served his country with the 101st Airborne in Iraq.
Here’s what he told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune:
“I think it’s extremely unfortunate that a school would bow to the political pressure of outside groups and not bring in a veterans organization,” Hegseth said. “Are we saying that patriotism and duty and honor have no place in our public schools?”
That’s a great question — especially for the taxpayers of Minnesota — the ones who pay Mr. Massey’s salary. Your thoughts?

We home school our children. It’s the best alternative. We’ve found so many public school teachers that don’t believe in God and don’t believe in what our nation stands for.

What this nations stands for? Are you serious? What do you think it stands for? Back in the day when it was officially "The United States Of America" it was not on a basis of love, harmoney and all about the people. Never was it like this. This nation was founded based on hate, greed and murder. Learn your history. I feel for your children because they are obviously being taught as I was in school, taught lies upon lies about history. True history is what you should be teaching them. And what the heck does god have to do with it? You don't have to believe in god to be a good person and/or teacher. I do not believe in god yet I love people more then anyone you would ever know. I treat people with more love, kindness and respect then anyone you would ever know. There is no place in school for god because if there is one then to each his own. It should not be forced on anyone who has the RIGHT to choose what they want to believe in. There is also nothing pertaining to education that involves a god. Therefore god has no place in public schools unless it is a private school whom wished to impliment god into their education.
Without the military these people in the U.S. would not be free to be so incredible stupid. This is incredible pathetic.

Keep the war propaganda where it should stay, in recruiting stations. Were they going to parade amputees and mentally unfit soldiers with ptsd? No, they were going to glorify killing and tell how happy they were to serve GW Bush. No, no war propaganda in the schools not now, not ever. Sending soldiers to the schools sounds too NAZI to me.
Why does it matter the teachers don't believe in God?, after all separation of church and state.
The story has been wrongly reported, I go to Forest Lake, and the reason Massey canceled was because the vets were going to give a small presentation in the auditorium, but the vets came with politicians, a huge presentation in the parking lot, and even military equipment. The vets did not do what was originally planned, that's why Massey canceled. Forest Lake, and Massey did nothing wrong.

I was in the military and my son is currently in the marine corp and I am so very proud of him as I am of all our military men and women. As far as your opinions about God and where we should let him in,is a problem you must deal with either now or for sure later.
The one thing that I am personally fed up with is our liberal friends saying that they do not want our conservative views shoved down there throats and all the while there craming the liberal BS up our rear ends.
