Country Music Marathon
Well, I finished the race. I’ll be posting my story and more photos later tonight — after I get the feeling back in my lower extremities.
It was great to run with the alums from Lee University — even President Paul Conn laced up his running shoes and hit the pavement. There were dozens of us wearing lime green shirts — and it was lots of fun shouting words of encouragement to one another on the race cour
se.
Lee University is one of the finest Christian schools in the nation — and has the most beautiful campus on the globe.
I also ran into Tim Harms — the pride of Belmont University — and our former SuperDude. I had just finished the race when he hollered out my name. He was passed out under a shade tree and politely invited me to come and pass out beside him — which I did.
It was a nice shade tree. The CMM was Tim’s first race — and he had an amazing time.
And of course, the Winns deserve huge props — for preparing a wonderful pre-game meal at their home in Thompson Station. Good food and country living — it’s in short supply in Brooklyn!
Okay — enjoy the photos — and my post-race analysis will commence once my brain kicks into gear.
