Holy Hannah Montana!

What the heck was Billy Ray Cyrus thinking?

His daughter is under fire for posting in a provocative photo spread in the next issue of Vanity Fair. His 15-year-old daughter.

Sounds to me like that mullet is affecting somebody’s judgement.

Miley Cyrus has apologized and said she’s embarrassed by the photos — which she said were supposed to be “artistic.” Sweetheart, that’s just artistic talk for — nude.

Miley, of course, is known as the star of Hannah Montana. Just about every kid in the country watches the Disney Channel show.

And this is news because Miley has been promoting herself as a “clean” alternative to Britney Spears. She’s also been cashing in on her Christian faith.

Disney released a statement blaming Vanity Fair. “Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines.”

Let’s play make believe for a moment. I’m a parent and a magazine has invited my daughter to pose for a photo shoot. As soon as the words “Please take your clothes off” are uttered — I’d be out of there in a flash — stopping long enough to smack the photographer.

It’s not the first time she’s had to apologize. Apparently she had to fess up after some naughty photos surfaced on the Internet — apparently taken when she was 14-years-old.
So Disney’s got their knickers in a knot because Vanity Fair is exploiting a teenager to make some cash. That’s like the pot calling the mouse ears black.

Folks, does anyone else think it’s time to have a serious discussion about parenting in this nation?
