The Redneck Stonehenge
Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a hoot.
That’s Rhett Davis’ message to his neighbors.
Rhett is a farmer in Hooper, Utah. He’s been there since he was a little boy — tilling the soil, raising horses and cattle.
Over the past few years, though, a number of city dwellers have arrived in Hooper and a few have built houses next door to Rhett. Hence, the problem.
It seems the newcomers loved the fresh country air, but they hated the fresh country smell — objecting to the horses, cows and hay.
Rhett suggested they split the cost of a fence — something his neighbors rejected. So he took matters into his own hands — and planted a bumper crop of used cars. Rhett created a fence made from abandoned cars, planted nose-first into the ground.
He told the Associated Press that he can do whatever he wants on his property — so he did.
Rhett proudly calls it his redneck stonehenge. I wonder if he’s considered adding used tires to his creation?
