The Mother of All Storms

I’ve relocated our base of operations to the Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel on the corner of Bourbon Street and Canal Street. Hotel workers tell me this is a safe building and should withstand the killer winds that are on their way.

Armed guards stand at every entrance — and their firepower is pretty darned impressive. In addition to journalists, Mayor Ray Nagin will also stay here. I’ve been all over the city today, taking photos and interviewing residents. I’ll be posting stories throughout the weekend. Folks, this is one dangerous storm.

Looking at the weather and news – this doesn’t look like another Katrina – Katrina was the storm of the century because of the failure on all levels of govt. and people living in the area.

“should withstand the killer winds” – I’m sure you found that comforting. Be careful!

Glad you are in a “more safe” hotel, but be careful Todd. Joni
