An Effigy Double Standard?

30 October 2008 One Comment Download My Toolbar!

Earlier this week I told you the story about a guy in West Hollywood, CA who hanged a likeness of Gov. Sarah Palin in effigy. The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department said while it may be tasteless, it did not violate the law.

Well, now there’s a report about two guys who decided to hang an effigy of Senator Barack Obama. And guess what happened?

The effigy was found hanging from a tree with a noose around its neck Wednesday morning. University police believe it was a stunt that got out of hand. The men told police, according to the AP, they decided to do it after hearing about the Gov. Palin effigy.

And what, kind readers, is the lesson we’ve learned from this?

What we learned is that if you are black you get preferential treatment regardless of your social status, your desire to work, or how many people you have called nigga. If you are white – you are considered priviledged, work only because some black guy was passed over, and use of the 'N' word is unacceptable in any form. I say all of that tongue in cheek.

We need to get rid of tthe racism – be proud of who you are and stand against injustice or you will only bring your people down – black, white, red, yellow, green, or blue. When it comes down to it – you should be bleeding the Red, White, and Blue people not black and white or you will be in a soup line soon.
