Playing the Race Card?
At least four Southern governors have said they will not take money from President Obama’s stimulus package and that is leading at least one lawmaker to suggest it’s because of racism.
Here’s what Congressman James Clyburn told WIS in Columbia, SC:
“The governor of Louisiana expressed opposition. Has the highest African-American population in the country. Governor of Mississippi expressed opposition. The governor of Texas, and the governor of South Carolina. These four governor’s represent states that are in the black belt. I was insulted by that. All of this was a slap in the face of African-Americans. It had nothing to do with Governor Sanford.”
And Mississippi’s governor said he’s not taking the money because it would impede on states’ rights.
How about it? Are these governors trying to hurt African-Americans?

Hey there – great talking with you today about your new book. Love what you're doing at Fox. Especially the chimp blog (the 2nd one). Man – what was she thinking??
This action by such GREAT men has nothing to do with race, but everything to do with honor and the loyalty that they each swore to give to their people. I wish we had more such leaders that could take a stand. Maybe then we could earn the respect of past investors and future leaders (our children)!
Clyburn is attempting to push the Liberal Revolution and its Communist-style governing on the solid conservative states. Clyburn's goal in South Carolina is to put in an activist liberal such as Robert Ford or Brad Hutto to power in the Governor's Mansion in 2010.
A victory by liberals would draw the districts to favour them in 2012 and also create a state more willing to follow down the path of despair of this wicked Presidency.
