Farrah’s Story

I am curious about us. Yes, you and me. What makes us tick? Why do we watch certain entertainment? Why do we slow down to look at car accidents?

The latest example of my puzzlement is the film documenting Farrah Fawcett dying of cancer. Over 9 million people tuned in to watch the film on NBC. I am not sure why…. why she allowed herself to be filmed…. why her “friends” filmed her dying….. why people want to watch it.

Is this being hyped so the network can cash in during sweeps month?

I thought it was a time of very personal and private moments, not entertainment.
