Right Wing On von Brunn: He’s Left Wing
Since they’re totally embarassed by the obvious connection to elements of what they’ve been preaching, the echo chamber on the right has been simultaneously shouting about how James von Brunn, the suspect in the Holocaust Museum shootings, is left wing. Someone from the Ayn Rand institute insisted that because he’s racist, he must be on the left. Rush Limbaugh proclaimed, that van Brunn “has more in common with the marchers and protesters we see at left-wing rallies.” Red State’s Erick Erickson tweeted, “…like left wing bloggers, hates Bush, Israel, the war, Christians, capitalism. The list goes on and on.”
Hmm, let’s see. He thought there was a Jewish conspsiracy to take over the world, hated blacks, is part of the birther movement that is calling on Obama to release his birth certificate, refers to himself as a “white Christian“, hates the government, and attempted a kdnapping at the Federal Reserve. The truth is probably, as Ben Smith at Politico has it, that he’s so far right that he defies the current left/right paradigm.
