MR. PRESIDENT–APOLOGIZE TO THAT COP!
The election of barack obama was supposed to usher in the era of post racial America. The president’s people said it all the time during his campaign: America needs to prove it is no longer racist by electing a black man president of the united states…. And America did.
But now the president of the united states has destroyed any chance for a post racial America.
Asked about the henry louis gates incident… in which theharvard professor was arrested for disorderly conduct after berating a police officer and accusing of him being a racist cop when the officer was investigating a report of a burglary in progress at gates home.
Asked about this incident… the president glossed over gates’ racial abuse of the cop, and said the cop acted stupidly in arresting gates. And then he made matters worse by claiming the incident shows that there is still racism in the united states.
Well, a lot of white people voted for you mr. president and you are insulting them as well as this cop. Your election proved that this is not a racist America, and nothing in the behavior of this cop indicates he was a racist.
President obama owes sgt james Crowley of the Cambridge police department an apology. Sooner would be better than later.
