I’M FOR GUN RIGHTS… I’M NOT FOR BRINGING YOUR GUN TO A PRESIDENTIAL RALLY.
I’m a gun owner. I’m an owner of multiple guns. I own a handgun. I own a shotgun, a scoped rifle, a lever action 30 30, a varmint gun. I support gun rights.
Having said that… I think it was needlessly provocative for William costrick to bring a loaded handgun to an obama rally in new Hampshire the other day.
For a couple reasons… one… bringing a gun around the president of the united states causes immediate suspicions on the part of anybody, and especially the authorities charged with protecting the president.
But secondly, and this is the most important…. No matter how smart and articulate and calm William costric is… and he is… the fact that he wanted to make this gun statement at a presidential rally gives piles of ammunition to the people who want to restrict gun rights. It was needlessly provocative… and the left jumped on it immediately.
Over at msnbc the tsk tsking went on for hours and hours. Bathtub boy… herr olbermann… linked costric’s demonstration of his gun rights to militias bathtub booy says are planning to overthrow the government because the president is black.
Get it? You’re not just a gun nut, but you’re a racist gun nut.
Don’t give the left this particular ammunition. In the name of two assassinated Kennedys… how about we not exercise our gun rights at a presidential rally.
