RACE MATHEMATICS 101

Let’s do the math…

In the presidential election campaign a couple of polls tried to identify how many racists were left in this country. They got a consistent number of about five percent of people who said they wouldn’t vote for a black person to be president.

Now we’ve got a major dustup over a black president’s policies and cries of racism have been raised. Fox did some polling which showed that about twenty percent think racism is the reason some people oppose obama.

So we have a gap of fifteen percent who are being thought of by others as racists, but are not racists, or don’t say they are racists.

That means an awful lot of people are being unfairly accused of being racists. And they know why they are being accused, too. It’s because they are white.

I hear black people say to me all the time, look at those 9/12 and tea party marches. They’re all white.

Well, if the judgment is made that because they’re all white they are, therefore, racist, that conclusion in and of itself is racist.

Why is that so hard to see?
