A fang-tabulous movie soundtrack leads off an eclectic week of music releases in the FOXLight.
Twilight: New Moon is the soundtrack to the upcoming sure-to-be hit film and features tracks by Death Cab for Cutie, Bon Iver, and Thom Yorke.
Southern Voice is the latest from southern voice Tim McGraw.
The Michael Jackson cash-in sweepstakes continue with The Remix Suite, a collection of [solo and Jackson 5] Motown-era tracks remixed by The Neptunes, Akon and Paul Oakenfold.
German metalists Rammstein heavily drop their latest, titled Liebe Ist Für Alle Da.
Funny folkies Flight of the Conchords return with their second season roundup I Told You I Was Freaky.
Colour Me Free is Joss Stone’s latest, with guests from Jeff Beck to Nas, and is a Target and iTunes exclusive.
Also out this week…
Terri Clark’s The Long Way Home features guests Johnny Reid and Vince Gill.
Lyle Lovett collects his favorite songs by Texas singer-songwriters and some of his own originals under the title Natural Forces.
Expando is former Poco and current Eagles bassman Timothy B. Schmit’s first solo affair in 8 years, and features help from Graham Nash, Dwight Yoakam and Kid Rock.
Sufjan Stevens goes from chronicling states to roads with The B.Q.E., a symphonic tribute to New York’s Brooklyn-Queens Expressway recorded live at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in 2007.
On the reissue front this week is Carpenters 40/40, a 40-track collection celebrating 40 years since their recording debut. And, some would say it’s probably the 40th Carpenters compilation!
King Crimson celebrates the 40th Anniversary of In The Court of the Crimson King with a deluxe double-disc set, featuring a new remix of the album on Disc 1, the original mix remastered on Disc 2, and bonus tracks sprinkled throughout.
111 years Of Deutsche Grammophon is a limited edition 55 disc boxed set of seminal releases from the classical label, and is being billed as “a miniature musical reference library”.
