Sorry If I Won’t Be Your Fan

I have to get something off my chest.
I can’t be your fan.
Well, I CAN. But generally speaking, I WON’T be.
How COULD I be?? I don’t even KNOW you!
Ever get requests from people on Facebook to be their fans?? Or else they suggest you become a fan of some person or group or place you have never even heard of?
Imagine getting about 50 of those a DAY.
I say no to nearly ALL the requests. I say YES to very few. The request has to be about a place or person I already KNOW of. And I have to FEEL it. I can be a supporter of someone without necessarily being a FAN.
Heck, I don’t even have a fan site of my own. And that was intentional. Most people on the radio or television don’t have “friend” pages on Facebook. At least not ones open to the general public.
I didn’t want to be like that. I wanted to consider listeners as Facebook “friends”…not people looking up to me because I am on the radio.
So, anyway. Don’t be mad if I won’t be your fan. It’s nothing personal.
Fans are temporary anyway.
I’d rather be your friend.
