After specualtion in the press last week regarding the fate of  Oprah Winfrey’s iconic talk show, The announcement to end it in 2011 came this morning. The announcement was made with a few tears. Oprah is reportedly making the move in order to devote time to her network OWN. Early Thursday morning an FAA computer glitch caused flight delays and cancellations, making the FAA the hot twoppic of the moment. The glitch involved the computer system that allows pilots to submit flight plans. The FAA’s Kathleen Berg explains.  The glitch lasted about 5 hours — a “ripple effect” is expected to impact flights nationwide throughout the day.

The hot twoppic of the day is Mac, which is trending due to a twitter promotion. A new app called Voices is available for free if you sign up on their website and spread the word through twitter. Have you always wanted to sound like Darth Vader? Or maybe a chipmunk? With Voices, you can choose among 17 different characters and record a voice memo in that voice.

It’s  finally here: “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” is in theaters tonight at midnight. People Magazine announced their 2009 Sexiest Man Alive – and they are bringing it back to Johnny Depp, who is the hot twoppic of the moment. Depp held the prestigious title in 2003 — he becomes the first man to get such an honor twice in one decade. And at 46 years old, the star can hardly complain at being described by People as “the king of cool with the killer cheekbones.” Other honorees include the boys from the TV show  “Glee,” soccer player David Beckham, and “American Idol” runner-up, Adam Lambert. @laurennbrookss tweets Johnny Depp? Tweeps in Indonesia sure know how to make trending topics — the hot twoppic of the moment is #tebakbandtranslate, a twitter game where you pick the name of a popular band or song and translate it into Indonesian.

The hot twoppic of the day is Beyonce. Today the sexy video for her new single, Video Phone was released. The ubiquitous Lady Gaga lends her vocals to the track  and she appears alongside Beyonce in the video,  which features fierce fashion and shows the pop stars wielding toy guns at the paparazzi. Critiques of the video were surprisingly harsh on Twitter: @nathangt67 tweets the new Beyonce vid, is a good reminder how true talent is no longer needed to be famous @JuliaMella tweets Video Phone sounds okay. John Mayer and Norah Jones smooth out this week’s FOXLight Music Release roundup.  Mayer’s Battle Studies, while nothing new, certainly won’t disappoint his fanbase.  But Norah Jones’ The Fall is a departure, veering away from piano-jazz toward guitar-based alt-country.

It was an exciting day of football on Sunday — the Indianapolis Colts pulled out a come-from-behind victory against the New England Patriots. It’s official – there is indeed,  water on the moon. Last month NASA sent the LCROSS probe crashing into the moon’s surface to see if there was water under the surface of the moon. They found not just a little bit – but a significant amount of water ice at the lunar south pole. NASA plans to return astronauts to the moon by 2020 for longer missions on the lunar surface – the discovery could be used as a local resource to support a lunar base, making NASA your hot twoppic of the moment.

The anticipation has been building and building and soon…the wait will be over. “New Moon,” the latest movie in the “Twilight” saga will be released November 20th, and is your hot twoppic of the day.  The film stars Kristen Stewart as the innocent  human Bella  and rumored real life boyfriend Robert Pattinson as the brooding vampire, Edward. The new film will complicate things with a love triangle, adding  hunky teenager  Taylor Lautner, who plays a werewolf and Bella’s best friend.

Ed Asner is the voice of a curmudgeonly former balloon salesman who decides to fly his entire house to South America in the latest Disney/Pixar hit, Up. Katherine Heigl is an unlucky in love TV Morning Show producer who gets teamed up with uber-male Gerard Butler in The Ugly Truth. Butler gets ratings, and helps Heigl, by telling “the ugly truth” about what makes men and women tick.

Ashton Kutcher is a man who uses his wares to live the high life in L.A. in Spread. Anne Heche is his sugar mama, until he meets Margarita Leveiva, the female version of himself.

Listen up Fantasy Football players – your hot twoppic of the moment is Larry Johnson. The running back was released by the Kansas City Chiefs, and many believe it was because of what he posted on his Twitter account. His posts belittled the Chiefs head coach, insulted a fan,  and used a gay slur. Sadly, the hot twoppic of the moment is about gun violence. Yesterday there was the massacre at Fort Hood, in Texas.  Then today, there was a shooting in an office building in Orlando, Fl, where at least 1 person has died and others were wounded. The film follows an obese Africa-American teenager as she endures many forms of abuse. Though Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry are executive producers, the film is far from a feel-good experience.
