Saturday will not be a day of rest for congress..my hunch is Senator Reid knows he has the votes to begin the debate if he didnt’ the risk would be too great. Elections have consequences and actions effect elections which means the Dems have the power but the end is near at its current pace.

Presidents approval rating is 48 and falling Pelosi in the 30’s and Harry Reid might lose his election next year. Hey Mr President move to the middle and you’ll stiick around for 7 years

Eric Holder trying to defend his defenseless decision to bring the 5 most wanted terrorist for trial in NYC. The 911 victim families were not consulted and they are angry and I just am upset we have to pay for the security in NYC in and around the court house. Could that money not be better used in education health care or social services?

Love that Giv. Patterson stood up against the move shows he’s going out with a bang. When will these .officials understand we are not afraid of these guys just dont want the cowardly terror they perpetrate

He might as well order water to run up hill or command the earth to be flat. The federal government conceded last night that in the ten months of the Obama presidency, it has wasted NINETY-SIX BILLION TAXPAYER DOLLARS. No one can take the executive order he will sign seriously. The problem with government is that it is the negation of freedom. When it runs something like the Post Office or Amtrak, it does not need to reward investors or entice consumers. It just treats us like dumb sheep, and it will continue to do so until we make fundamental changes to assure that the word “free” returns to the free market.

If the Bush administration had done that in 2004, when it captured these people, they’d have been tried, convicted, and executed by now. The law is clear: If you are accused of violating American law, you are to be tried in the judicial district in which the crime occurred. This is not political correctness or policy of the present Department of Justice (DoJ), it is required by the Constitution. Mayor Giuliani never complained when Tim McVeigh was tried in federal court in Denver. In the Zacharias Moussaoui case, the one the government assured us was the 20th 9/11 hijacker, Mayor Giuliani not only lauded the prosecution in federal district court in Alexandria, VA, he testified for the government at the trial. As well, DoJ prosecutors have never lost a terrorism case in a federal district court in modern times. The same cannot be said of military prosecutors at Gitmo. They tried two cases to near-completion. One was a guilty verdict, and then the court set the defendant free in Yemen because the evidence was weak and he had already served enough time in American jails . The other ended with a plea to a lower level crime, and the defendant–though labeled a murderer by the government–was set free in Australia.

If President Obama wants to work two terms he has to keep this country safe and free from attack. Soft Power has yielded nothing and even the NY Times is calling out the Presdient for dealing with Iran while they still laugh and provoke us.

Why does President Clinton think he has an effective messag to fellow Dems in the Senate when he failed so badly 10 years ago.

General Scales was great today as were all our guests this is some intriguing time to be a news DJ.

Instead of a half dozen regulators, Dodd wants one giant central planner, Soviet-style, to regulate all commercial activity that, were it to fail, would adversely affect the economy. The government still has not learned that central planning, government insulation from the risk of failure, securing the permission of bureaucrats before entering into contracts, capping compensation; in short, DC running businesses that are privately owned is the Mussolini model, and doomed to destroy freedom and property.

He’s being hailed a hero and now will use our legal system to bask the country and an American Colonial to fight his battle- heck hes using our free medical care right now. Hope the world knows he was taken down by a women. Deal with that, because she might just be the bravest person int he country and in his muslim world would not have been alllowed to even have a job.

The bill authorizes the IRS to add to the tax bill of anyone so refusing a 2.5% surcharge on that person’s taxes. Whoever refuses to pay the surcharge could be indicted for tax evasion, and if convicted, be sentenced to five years in federal prison. That incarceration would cost the feds about $50,000 a year; far more than any health care insurance package.

It will decide the outcome of the 2010 election one way or another should this bill get done it will make or break one party. I just dont understand why President Obama insists on governing from the left when all the numbers show he’s losing independents moderates and any Republican support. This bill might be his last major success story because hes leaving somany bodies and hard feeling in his wake. All the exit polling showed Americans are worried about the spending and yet he leads the charge on a 1.2 trillion dollr bill while pledging to cut 400 billion from medicare.

Btw..their is no reason outside Fort Hood killings that should stop an American President from celebrating the destruction of the Berlin Wall. He is going to Fort Hood now on Tuesday but Berlin was never on the schedule, but Copenhagen was…go figure

Barney Frank’s let-the-Federal-Reserve regulate all banks legislation and Sen. Chris Dodd’s let’s-establish-a-new-regulator legislation is really a pick-your-poison choice. Both proposals presume that the free market should not be free, both presume that bureaucrats and politicians should supersede the free choices of consumers and investors, and neither proposal finds any basis in the Constitution. The Frank proposal puts most regulatory power into the hands of the super-secretive Fed, whose ways are essentially unknown and unknowable, while the Dodd proposal puts all regulatory power into the hands of a new bureaucracy. The Dodd proposal (a copy of which has not yet been released) purports to strip the Federal Reserve of some regulatory authority that it already has. If this were to pass, it would be the first time since 1913, when the Monster from Jekyll Island was born, that the government has actually taken power away from it.
