President obama needs to be a bit more like president Bush. He needs to morph into Barack W. Obama.

His trip to Asia proved why. Instead of taking his time to work out deals ahead of time, instead of being tough and standing up for American interests, President Obama decided he would go on another world tour, expecting cheers and adulation. Instead he got a slap across the face with brass knuckles, and was humiliated in virtually every stop. He didn’t help himself bowing to the Japanese emperor… and in China President Hu cleaned his clocked… giving him a lecture on American borrowing, and refusing to help Obama on Iran.

Obama was counting on his personal charm. The novelty has evidently worn off.

Now he needs to toughen up, and not expect his personal appeal will pay off in dividends for American interests.

When it came to foreign affairs, Bush’s critics said he was a bully, and Obama’s critics say he is a chump. Which hurts us more? The chump not the bully.

The KSM trial issue… bring the 9/11 mastermind to new York city for a civilian trial… turned ugly for the President Obama yesterday.

His Attorney General, Eric Holder, was absolutely stumped by a question from Senator Lindsey Graham yesterday before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Graham asked Holder quote: Can you give me a case in United States history where an enemy combatant caught on a battlefield was tried in a civilian court?

Holder stammered, stumped by a question even NPR said he should have known was coming. He had no answer, so Graham answered for him. He informed Holder the answer is no, there is no case.

The likes of KSM have always been tried in a military court.

So why is the Obama administration insisting KSM go before a civilian court in New York? There can be only one answer: a political calculation that such a trial is good for Obama. Or he thinks it will be.

I think he’s made a bad bet. This is going to end up being a huge embarrassment for Obama… unless he backs out of his decision and sends KSM back to GITMO for trial.

It appears president obama is on the cusp of making a decision to get out of Afghanistan and let the Taliban have it.

Tony Blankley said in his syndicated column that if Obama isn’t in it to win… win… he should bring the troops home.

And we know that Obama is against a multiyear commitment to Afghanistan.

Since we also know that nothing can be done quickly, the simplest of logic says Obama isn’t interested in winning—it’s too hard, takes too long—and he’s about to engage in some sort of dance that amounts to giving up, will be dressed up to look like something else.

In other words, Obama is about to surrender in Afghanistan, under some other name.

I say if he’s going to surrender, let’s call it that, and hand Obama a white flag he can wave at the Taliban.

If he’s going to give Afghanistan to the Taliban, get it over with.

And then let’s button down for the next Taliban al Qaeda attack on the American Homeland… and remember who is responsible.

What’s this ksm trial in new York city all about? It can’t be about justice for Khalid sheikh mohammad. After all, he’s already pled guilty in a military tribunal, which have been approved by the supreme court and the congress. Obama pulled the plug on that in order to bring ksm to new York. So… once again… why?

Let’s go back. Obama ran on being not bush, or the antidote to bush. His first year in office has been a nonstop litany of blame bush for this or blame bush for that.

By moving the ksm trial to civilian court in new York, obama has virtually ensured that the trial will not be about Khalid sheikh mohammad… but about bush and cheney and what the left believes were their war crimes.

So how does the calendar work with this trial? A year and a half of discovery motions takes us to September, 2011… then a year of trial brings us to closing arguments just before the November 2012 election.

What this is all about is obama’s plan to run for re election by running against bush again, no matter who the republican candidate actually is.

I just don’t know what to think about Carrie Prejean. True, she says dumb things. But far as I know, she didn’t push her way into the public spotlight for anything other than being a beauty queen. At the Miss USA pageant she was ambushed by Perez Hilton, an LGBT storm trooper, with a set up question about whether she supported gay marriage.

Perez Hilton was trying to create controversy and it worked because Carrie answered that she opposes gay marriage and that answer brought gay wrath down on her.

So she gets trashed all over the media for being dumb and a bigot. And she defends herself, as any sane person would.

Well, as soon as she becomes a public figure, here come the old boyfriends with the pictures. And now she’s getting trashed as not only dumb and a bigot, but a hypocrite and a tart.

Let this be a lesson to you girls. If you want to spend a weekend in a hotel with a hot guy, don’t answer questions from Perez Hilton, and above all… don’t make nude videos of yourself to send to the weekend boyfriend.

It all gets very ugly.

President obama is good at speeches. The one he gave at Fort Hood yesterday was almost one hundred percent good. It fell short in one teeny tiny area… for some reason he refuses to say the word “terrorism”.

What could be more obvious about the attack by Major Hasan on the soldiers at Fort Hood? It was a picture perfect definition of terrorism, and the president should have used the word because Americans need to be reminded that the terrorists who attack everyday somewhere around the world want to attack here.

Major Hasan had been preaching jihad in open forums with fellow military officers for some time. Political correctness kept superiors from putting a leash on him. The CIA had tracked him communicating with an al Qaeda website in Yemen, informed the FBI, but old ways die hard. The FBI refused to allow investigators to inform the military of Hasan’s outrageous email traffic.

So political correctness kept the military from acting, pre 9/11 habits of the FBI keeping secrets from other parts of our government still hobble us, and now this: the president can’t even call it what it obviously is, terrorism.

Use the T word Mr. President. You may find it useful.

We now know that the cia and the fbi and the army knew that major nidal Hassan was communicating with al qaeda, and the army did nothing about removing him from his post.

What are the legitimate ways a member of the u.s. military can communicate with al qaeda? There are two, actually. One is through the barrel of his or her gun, with a high velocity projectile message. The second is under the supervision of a superior while engaged in espionage.

Anything else should set off alarm bells that ring all the way to the door of the oval office.

And yet the fbi and the army decided that even though hasan was writing love notes to a jihadi website based in yemen, he didn’t seem violent, so let it go.

Since we know the army has no problem kicking people out… ask any gay who has let his gayness be known… the only possible reason the army didn’t give hasan the boot was political correctness run amok among military commanders, the fbi and the cia.

That must end. It’s turned out to be deadly for our troops.

I was away at Disney world for a few days with the grandkids for their fifth birthday. Loved spending time with kids… but may I just say I’m not the Disney World type?

I know it will offend many because there were many many many people there seeming to have a good time. But everytime I called the hotel desk they asked me to have a “magical day”. I don’t have magical days… not even at Disney.

The place is too big, it’s too crowded, and pardon me for this heresy, but I don’t like riding Disney buses any more than I like New York city buses. And you can’t get around without getting on a Disney bus, or driving, and if you’re driving you might as well be in Los Angeles, because Disney World is one big freeway system.

I remember Disneyland when it was small… by comparison… and fun. Not only that, I remember Walt Disney himself.

Not only that. I remember Mickey and Minnie and Goofy. Now the Disney experience is all about the princesses. And my grandkids think I’m lame if I get Ariel confused with Belle, or Sleeping Beauty or Cinderella… and I did get them confused.

Next birthday they’re coming to my house for a cake with candles. No more themeparks for me.

Is the republican party too extereme with conservatives running things? Well, compared to what? Compared to the democrat party with moveon and the far left running things?

The republican party… conservatives at the helm… offers Americans a choice in the voting booth. Republicans run by moderates just confuse the voters. Let’s see the democrat believes the same thing the republican believes… so how do you choose? Who looks better in a suit?

Americans need choices. They made a choice in 2008 by electing the most liberal democrat in decades. They’re making a choice today in virgina, new jersey and new york… and it looks like they are choosing conservative in at least two of those three.

The liberal media wants republicans to act like democrats so they can say to voters, get the real thing, a real honest to god liberal democrat.

Republicans should say… fine, you run a liberal, we’ll be conservative and we’ll see what America wants. That’s the way to play elections. Give voters a choice.

The white house may be asleep at the switch when it comes to jobs in America, but not even rip van winkle sleeps forever.

So this white house has awakened with a start to the fact that a year into the obama presidency, the jobs picture is awful, and democrats are going to suffer because of it in next year’s mid term elections.

What is the white house response? Unfortunately, it was not to cut taxes and create a climate in which businesses could create jobs. Instead, the white house looked over the dismal results of its claim that it would create three and a half million jobs and decided… well, it decided to just tell people it had created jobs that have not been created.

Friday they announced 640,329 jobs created or saved… and immediately had to start defending itself against inquiries that showed most of that claim was false.

And what do you do when caught in a fib? What this white house does is … fib some more. By the end of the day, 640,329 jobs had become a quote million jobs.

Why? An election rides on convincing you the false is true. You’ll hear more of this, I can assure you.

The white house is moving on from the war on fox to the war on Edmunds.com.

That’s right… the venerable and trusted automobile website and magazine is now on the bullseye and the white house if firing away.

Why? Because Edmunds did a study of the cash for clunkers program and determined that about 500 thousand of the 650 thousand vehicles that were sold during cash for clunkers would have been sold anyway. So somewhere around 125 to 150 thousand cars actually were sold because of the cash for clunkers program…

And when you do the math that works out to a lot more than taxpayers were told about the costs of cash for clunkers.

It works out to 24 thousand dollars per car…. Not the 45 hundred dollars we were told.

This is what happens when government tries to run a business. It runs at a huge loss.

And what happens when the truth is exposed? The white house attacks the truth teller.

This is not change we can believe in.

A famous neo con became famous for saying America is from mars, Europe is from venus. That construct explained why America wanted to kick some booty after we attacked and Europe wanted us to send diplomats asking terrorists to behave themselves.

The same construct now applies to liberals according to a new gallup poll. It shows liberals are from venus and conservatives from mars when it comes to health care and Afghanistan.

The gallup survey asked dems and repubs to arrange their priorities among three choices… health care, Afghanistan, the deficit.

Repubs went Afghanistan, health care, deficit…

Dems just the opposite… healthcare first… then Afghanistan.

Now we have 68 thousand troops in Afghanistan getting shot at and needing re-enforcements. Yes, we have Americans with healthcare issues… but shouldn’t the troops and a war come first on your list of priorities?

I think this fact exposes democrats to scorn from their fellow Americans.

Ok… the president wants to take over one sixth of the american economy… healthcare…so the questions arises, how is the government doing with the other businesses it runs?
Well, we have news on that today. Amtrak is admitting that it is losing four times the amount projected on a per ticket basis. That is… it expected to lose $8 per ticket, and it’s actually losing $32 a ticket.
Chrysler … we’re learning that chrysler, which was bailed out and foisted off on fiat, is not going to sell american, or what used to be called chrysler cars anymore. It’s going to sell fiats. Straight from italy. And in order to get even some manufacturing business chrysler is now going to its owner, the us government, and saying, hey buy our jeeps for the military. That business model is working out great. Don’t make much anymore and what you do make sell to your own owner. Nice.
Then there’s gm. It’s making some nice chevys, howie long is doing a good job pitching them. They look good against the camry and all, but why did gmac, the financing arm of general motors go to the feds today asking for another bailout… another five billion dollars?
These are government run businesses. Why should the government run healthcare?
